Dr. Anifa Avakian Stadtman graduated from the University of California Berkeley School of Optometry in 2014. After practicing more than five years in the Bay Area and San Francisco, Dr. Avakian and her husband Kendall moved to Los Angeles to be with family.

Dr. Avakian continued practicing in Los Angeles. She founded and ran the dry eye clinic for the Beverly Hills Institute of Ophthalmology in 2021. Her clinic was geared towards hard-to-treat dry eyes patients with a variety of systemic health issues. She also helped and co-managed the patients who have had cataract and refractive surgeries.

Dr. Avakian and her family fell in love with Arizona and decided to make this beautiful state their home, where their small daughter will grow up and will set her roots. After more than 2 years of hard work they moved to Arizona in December of 2024.

In clinic, Dr. Avakian’s goal is not only to try and improve the comfort and function of vision through primary care eye examinations, contact lens fittings and emergency eye care but also to improve the quality of her patients’ lives by providing the eye care geared towards their individual needs. She is extremely passionate about treating dry eyes ‘the silent epidemic’ as she likes to call it.

As a mother, Dr. Avakian loves children and enjoys working with them, making them feel safe and comfortable. She values her relationship with her patients and considers it the most important and beautiful aspect of her profession.

She will continue to provide our patients with the great care they are used to receiving from Dr. Stamper. Dr. Avakian personally always calls to follow up on all of her patients, dry eye or not, answer their questions and address any concerns they may have.
